The trailer then features Annette Bening's character, Danvers' Kree mother, who reveals that Carol's real life began nearly as it ended. There's also a flashback that shows how Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel.

After Gal Gadot slaying us as the stunning and courageous Wonder Woman, it looks like Brie Larson is here to make us clap and whistle for us as she plays a "noble warrior hero" in Captain Marvel.

The trailer ends with a number of shots showcasing the true power that Captain Marvel can harness and unleash upon her enemies. The cast also includes Lashana Lynch and Gemma Chan, along with Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, and McKenna Grace. We get a glimpse of the most powerful superhero in Marvel universe, someone Avengers need desperately in Infinity War sequel after Thanos' finger snap.

Captain Marvel is set for United States release on March 8, 2019. In a voiceover, one of these noble warrior heroes (Oscar-nominated actress Annette Bening, in an as-yet unnamed role) explains to Danvers, "Your life began the day it almost ended". She said, "I'm not going to fight your war, I'm going to end it".

Putin, Trump to meet at G20 summit
The Kremlin said on Wednesday it still expected a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump to go ahead. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has urged North Atlantic Treaty Organisation to send ships to the area.

"She's insane strong", Larson said during the Sun's visit to the set of Captain Marvel this past summer. "And you're a Kree - a race of noble warriors?" Still, Marvel Studios has made bigger leaps with lesser known characters before - and Bening is a prestigious enough actor to accomodate with that kind of change. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past.

That trailer is incredible and, if you believe the rumours, there may be more to come from Marvel later this week.

"Captain Marvel" will be the penultimate film of the MCU's third phase, capped by a fourth "Avengers" ensemble movie, due May 2019, in which Brie Larson is also scheduled to appear. She was indeed a Skrull, set to destroy Captain Marvel.
