Cavaliers reportedly trade guard Korver to Utah Jazz

Kristopher Nichols
November 30, 2018

He played 50 games with the team that season, then two more seasons with the franchise.

In exchange for Korver, the Cavs will get guard Alec Burks - and his expiring contract - along with two future second-round draft picks, according to the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the swap has to be approved by the National Basketball Association. It's one of the main reasons Smith is no longer with the team.

In three seasons with Cleveland, he averaged 9.3 points per game, mostly scoring his points from jumpers and three-point shots.

Now, he'll return to the Jazz, where he played three seasons from 2007 until 2010. The 37-year-old is making $7.56 million this season and is set to make $7.5 million next season.

Robert Mueller Says Paul Manafort Violated Plea Deal
He'll be sentenced in February in his criminal case in Virginia, which he took to trial and lost. The now $30,000,000 Witch Hunt continues and they've got nothing but ruined lives.

In 16 games this season with the Cavs, Kyle Korver averaged 6.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field, 46.3 percent from beyond the arc and 81.3 percent from the free-throw line. He will make $7.56 million this year and has $7.5 million on his deal for next year, although less than half of it is guaranteed. While he didn't want to move his family during the season, he and his wife met in Utah and the family is familiar with the area, so if anything, at least they will move to a place that they not only are familiar with but like as well.

Korver has played for the Cavaliers since 2017 and was a vital piece in the team's offense coming off the bench.

The Cavs are trying to acquire young talent to help rebuild their team.
