From Friday to Sunday, Rockstar accumulated the biggest entertainment opening weekend of all-time beating out Avatar and any Star Wars or Marvel film.

The sales success of the game comes hot on the heels of shocking revelations about the human cost of the development of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 has already generated nearly three quarters of a billion dollars in revenue according to the company, just three days after its release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Red Dead Redemption 2 also beat its biggest rival, Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Mystery of sisters found taped together deepens

Haze hovers over Indian capital as peak pollution season arrives

India Test squad for Australia tour announced; Rohit, Vijay, Parthiv return
The move exposed the long India tail, and the home team lost its last five wickets for just 46 runs. Hope was beaten by Bumrah and clean bowled in the 44th over as West Indies struggled at 227-8.

The launch of "Red Dead", originally slated for the fall of 2017, has been delayed two times, and has hit Take-Two Interactive Software Inc's financial projections and stock price. GTA V launched on a Tuesday, and pulled in one billion in three days, so that's why Red Dead 2 was able to take the weekend crown. There have been few games with three-day sell-through announcements, so it is hard to gauge what the first few days of sales imply about the potential lifetime sales for a given game.

Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2 has achieved the single-biggest opening weekend in the history of entertainment. This is the second-highest grossing entertainment launch ever behind Grand Theft Auto 5, another Rockstar Games release.

Critics from around the world have praised the game for its engrossing storyline, rich open world environment and stunning graphics, with many calling it among the best video games of all time. It pushes the envelope of what we understand is possible in a video game.

Meanwhile, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains a critical success as well.
