Campaigning for Democratic party candidates, former USA president Barack Obama has accused the ruling Republicans of pitting people against one another and not addressing the challenges being faced by the country. When the rest of the nation gets a cold, Las Vegas gets the flu. They make it harder for young people, and minorities and the poor to vote, and that entrenches their power further, he said. All that stuff is nice to do.

Don't boo, he told the crowd - just vote. Several key counties reported record turnout over the weekend, a sign that bodes well for Democrats and their efforts to capture an open gubernatorial seat and unseat Sen.

Obama never mentioned Trump by name, but encouraged the crowd to "believe in facts" and accused Republicans of giving tax cuts to "folks who are already sitting pretty". He noted that Republicans are engaging in deception by promising to voters that they will protect pre-existing conditions after offering bills to kill those protections and lawsuits to dismantle them.

The rally was focused on the state's Senate race where Democrat Jacky Rosen is challenging the Republican senator now in office, Dean Heller. "So when you hear all of his talk about economic miracles right now, remember who started it".

"Here's just one simple fact, this is a fact this is not - I'm, unlike some, I actually try to state facts", Obama joked.

"The racism, the bigotry, and the hate, it really lights me up".
