No one had a ticket with the winning numbers picked in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing.

Despite insanely long odds - one in 302.5 million - someone with an unparalleled gift for picking numbers - or an astonishing amount of good luck- very well could match all six Mega Millions numbers on Friday, and win a jackpot that now stands at a mind-blowing $970 million.

Add that to the Mega Millions jackpot to be drawn Friday, which has swollen to $900 million, and there are combined jackpots well past $1.3 billion at stake. Most winners take the cash option, which would pay an immediate $513 million.

Lottery officials say the ticket was sold at the Minit Mart #664 on Leestown Road.

Both games have been modified in recent years to increase jackpots.

The sales cut-off for Mega Millions is at 10:44 p.m. EDT Friday, Powerball is 9:58 p.m. EDT Saturday and Hoosier Lotto is 10:39 p.m. EDT Saturday. The changes made it less likely that any given ticket will win the top prize, but they increased chances of winning smaller prizes. The odds of winning the jackpot are now 1 in 302,575,350.

The jackpots for the nation's two largest lottery games continue to grow. That honor goes to a 2016 Powerball jackpot, which clocked in at $1.586 billion (although it was shared by three winners).

The next Powerball drawing is at 11 p.m. EST Saturday. There are smaller prizes, from $2 up to $1 million, for matching some, but not all, numbers.

Tickets are $2 and players choose five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26.
