Hurricane Michael is a monster storm and an unnatural disaster

1 A.M. As the outer rain bands of Hurricane Michael make their way onshore in the Panhandle, the eye of the storm has strengthened into a Category 4 hurricane.

Michael crashed onto Florida's coast Wednesday with 155 miles per hour winds - strong enough to demolish houses.

According to an advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Michael's eyewall was strengthening as it maintained maximum sustained winds of 145 miles per hour.

Meteorologists warn that the storm is still "extremely dangerous" and "life threatening", and will bring tremendous winds, heavy rain and storm surges of up 14 feet to the Panhandle and Big Bend.
