Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in August this year that his country would send a national crew to space on board domestically-developed Gaganyaan spacecraft by 2022, when India celebrates the 75th anniversary of Independence.

Three members of the Expedition 56 crew, NASA astronauts Drew Feustel and Ricky Arnold, and cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, returned to Earth after months overseas the International Space Station and landed safely at 7:44 a.m. EDT (5:44 Kazakhstan) southeast of the remote town of Dzhezkazgan in Kazakhstan.

An astronaut and cosmonaut are due to travel to the ISS on October 11 aboard a Russian Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Members of the worldwide crew of a manned transportation spacecraft Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev, NASA astronauts Andrew Feustel and Richard Arnold have become the members of the 56 expedition.

Earlier in September, Rogozin has raised some consternation by saying that an air leak spotted at the International Space Station was a drill hole that happened during manufacturing or in orbit.

On Wednesday, NASA issued statement noting that a Russian investigation ruled out that the whole was caused by a manufacturing defect.

Rogozin said a leading theory continues to be that someone in the station or at a space facility on Earth drilled the hole on goal.

According to Dmitry Rogozin, who was placed under United States sanctions over the Ukraine crisis in 2014, said he experienced difficulties in collaborating with NASA and other U.S. agencies to solve out the issue of the ISS hole. The flight should take place in 2022 before or after India's independent manned space mission.

Today, October 4, at the worldwide space station (ISS) ended the work of the 56th expedition.

The ISS is one of the few areas of tight Russia-US cooperation that remains unaffected by the crisis in ties, including after Washington's sanctions against Russia over Ukraine and other crises.
