LSU Tigers player Wayde Sims killed in shooting

LSU basketball player Wayde Sims was shot and killed near Southern University's campus early Friday morning, Baton Rouge PD confirms.

According to authorities, Sims was in a Subway restaurant when shots rang out and he was immediately rushed to the hospital, but ultimately dies from his wounds.

"We are all devastated".

Sims, 20, was getting ready to start his junior season for LSU. He started 10 games in his previous season, and averaged 5.6 points and 2.6 rebounds. "We are heartbroken." Wade said in his statement.

"Detectives are attempting to identify and locate the individual who is seen towards the end of the video on the right side of the screen wearing red trousers with a white stripe down the leg and a gray shirt", Baton Rouge police said.
