Kings, Suns Willing to Help Facilitate Jimmy Butler Trade

Almost one week after reportedly issuing his trade request, Jimmy Butler still remains a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The New York Times' Marc Stein tweeted that South Beach is Butler's preferred destination.

Jimmy Butler apparently has altered his thinking when it comes to where he would like to be traded. A Heat spokesman told the Sun Sentinel recently they would not address speculation, but Miami looks like a major player in the Butler sweepstakes. Now, Miami with cap space to pay Butler long-term could be the favorite.

"Our reality is that he has requested a trade, so we'll honor that", said Timberwolves head coach and president of basketball operations Tom Thibodeau. "The Brooklyn Nets, LA Clippers and Miami Heat all have contracts that they would love to unload, and a Butler deal could mean that they deliver Sacramento a pick and cash to take on a veteran player".

With the group the Celtics have clicking and looking like championship-contenders, there's no reason to trade for Butler right now.
