So this latest piece of fan art from Boss Logic imagines a more familiar look for Phoenix's take on the Joker, more in line with the character's appearance in The Dark Knight.

Todd Phillips, the director of the upcoming Joker origin film, posted a camera test of Joaquin Phoenix Friday on Instagram.

The Joker is getting a new, gritty backstory starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Joker is set for release October 4, 2019, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Joker's synopsis says that it "centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen".

Joker is reportedly set in the 1980s, and also stars Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron and Robert DeNero.
