Republicans want Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's accuser to testify in a committee hearing scheduled for Monday.

The Latest on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and the woman who accuses him of sexually assaulting her decades ago (all times local): 10:05 a.m. President Donald Trump says "we'll have to..."

"Dr. Blasey Ford's experience is all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton", the letter says. "If they wanted to be, I would certainly do that, but as you know, they say this is not really their thing", Trump said, after the Justice Department spokesperson noted that Federal Bureau of Investigation had no concern in this.

Ms Ford detailed her allegation in a letter sent in July to Senator Dianne Feinstein, the committee's top Democrat.

Law students and a professor preparing for class at Roger Williams University School of Law on Wednesday afternoon shared their reactions to the tumultuous confirmation process of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. "I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation", he said.

Mr Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasely Ford, have both been asked to give evidence on Monday, but it is not clear if Ms Ford will appear.

"He's sailing to confirmation, but maybe not - there's a problem here - she needs to be heard, and the Republican said let's hear from her", he added. And I would surely hope she'd come Monday.

Trump also said that he has not spoken to Kavanaugh since the allegations surfaced.

"We're going to plow right through it", he said. Clinton says she thinks Republicans are trying to put Ford "in the dock and try to rush this through".

Why Newest Jimmy Butler Trade Rumor Could Be Good News For Celtics
He seconded Charania's earlier claim that those teams would be able to re-sign Butler as a free agent in July. Now he also must balance the possibility of Butler leaving, and how the franchise should best handle that.

Paul Manafort forfeits luxurious properties under plea deal
His plea in December to one count of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation requires Flynn to cooperate with prosecutors. Manafort's decision to cooperate deals a political setback to Trump ahead of congressional elections on November 6.

South African court says marijuana use in private is legal
The Constitutional Court has ruled that the private cultivation, possession and consumption of cannabis is legal. South Africa's government had opposed its legalisation, arguing the drug was "harmful" to people's health.

"If she shows up and makes a credible showing, that will be very interesting and we'll have to make a decision", Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a trip to the Carolinas.

The assault purportedly took place in 1982 when Ms Blasey Ford was 15 and Mr Kavanaugh 17.

Her lawyers previously suggested that the committee's senators question their client, not an outside counsel.

The hearing with Judge Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, a research psychologist in Northern California, sets up a potentially explosive public showdown that carries unmistakable echoes of the 1991 testimony of Anita Hill, who accused the future Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment. "Grassley requested it, they would do an investigation", said Leahy.

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) has been one to say that the FBI "does not do investigations like this".

Democrats decried Republicans' plans to push ahead with the hearing without seeking a full FBI investigation.

Kavanaugh has denied the allegations, and both he and Ford have agreed to testify before the Senate.

"Hopefully the woman will come forward, state her case".
