A Hurricane Warning is in effect for...

A tropical storm warning continues for Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe.

Tropical storm watches are in effect for Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua, and Saba and St. Eustatius. When these tropical systems are over open ocean it is hard to get a lot of data to ingest into the models.

Another video from NOAA's GOES-East weather satellite caught a different view of Hurricane Florence. Persons located within these areas should take all necessary actions to protect life and property from rising water and the potential for other unsafe conditions.

Residents of the Carolinas and neighboring states should consult local authorities for any evacuation orders and other preparation guidelines. Hurricane force winds now extend out 70 miles, McDonald added.

Meanwhile, what could be the world's most risky storm at the moment is Super Typhoon Mangkhut, which now has winds of 165 miles per hour (with 200 miles per hour gusts) and is taking aim on the Philippines, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. Now a major hurricane with winds of 115 miles an hour and increasing, the National Hurricane Center says Florence's forecast track will take the system over the southwestern Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda and the Bahamas Tuesday and Wednesday, and Florence will approach the coast of SC or North Carolina on Thursday.

Although Florence was downgraded from Category 4 status, it is still considered an extremely unsafe storm with maximum sustained winds near 125 miles per hour. It is classified as a strong category 2 hurricane with wind speeds of 150 kilometers per hour. Storm winds could intensify through the day and tonight, but weaken slightly Thursday as it nears the coast.

Gradual weakening is forecast during the next 72 hours.

Met Office 'danger to life' warning as winds to hit Northern Ireland
Coastal areas in both Carolinas have taken steps to evacuate residents and tourists, including a mandatory evacuation in SC . There is the potential for damaging winds with gusts up to 70mph possible, with sustained winds of 30 to 40mph .

The poorly organized, 45-mph storm is not expected to strengthen but should maintain its tropical storm strength for the next few days.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 949 mb (28.03 inches).

Some coastal flooding is possible in areas of onshore winds. Surge-related flooding depends on the relative timing of the surge and the tidal cycle, and can vary greatly over short distances. Conversely, the southern/western areas of the CSRA will see the least rain/wind.

RAINFALL: Florence is expected to produce heavy and excessive rainfall in the following areas... The storm will likely make landfall along the Carolina coast as a major hurricane late Friday or early Saturday.

Helene is now in the eastern Atlantic Ocean heading north.

In the meantime, the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic states are rushing to prepare for the rapidly strengthening Florence, which is expected to strengthen before it hits the US east coast later this week.
