"Hey, don't touch me again, man", Rubio says. "Don't touch me again, man", he said with a death stare.

Jones mocked the lawmaker's laugh after Rubio said he didn't know who Jones was before the back-and-forth quickly escalated. "You want me to get arrested". "I'll handle it myself".

"Oh he'll beat me up", Jones retorted.

Rubio apparently trolled Jones by claiming he didn't recognize the man.

The senator attempted to ignore Jones, telling him he didn't know who he was and calling him a "dumbass". You're not gonna silence America.

Twitter has made a decision to permanently ban conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has a long history of provoking and harassing mass shooting survivors and victims' families, the company announced Thursday via its Twitter Safety account. Before the hearing began, Jones and his followers surrounded Oliver Darcy, a reporter at CNN who has covered InfoWars and Twitter.

Boorstin pointed out that Jones was attending a hearing about election interference, and it was not about his fight with technology companies.

Jones, who runs the facts-challenged Infowars website, told reporters he was at the Senate Intelligence Committee's hearing to "face my accusers".

The companies said Jones had an engaged in hate speech and contributed to the harassment of users. He livestreamed a news conference on his Twitter account, which has been restored after a weeklong suspension last month.

As Rubio was speaking to the media about foreign interference in USA elections, Jones continuously pestered the senator with forceful questions, according to video of the encounter.

As Jones continued to rant, the CNBC control room cut his feed. But later in the day, as House Republicans on the Energy and Commerce Committee pressed Dorsey on what they called Twitter's censorship of conservative political figures and viewpoints, Jones' arguments appeared to have more resonance.

Rubio ended the spectacle and told reporters as he left, "You guys can talk to this clown". Martin Heinrich used one of Jones' debunked conspiracy theories as an example in questioning Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.
