TROPICS: Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall; Florence is Cat. 2 hurricane

Tropical Depression Gordon was expected on Thursday to dump more heavy rains that could cause flooding in central usa states as Hurricane Florence, a monster Category 3 storm, churned toward Bermuda, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

By 2 a.m. EDT, maximum sustained winds had decreased to 50 miles per hour (80 kph), with higher gusts.

As we head towards the peak of Atlantic Hurricane season, we expect a parade of tropical storms to develop over the next couple of weeks.

Tropical Storm Gordon's rain and winds lash Alabama coast
