Australian Instagram model Sinead McNamara found dead on billionaire's yacht in Greece

Sinead McNamara, 20, was reportedly found in critical condition on the vessel on Thursday.

Investigations are continuing into the tragic death of a young Australian woman in Greece.

Jake McNamara, the model's brother, was the first to announce her death.

Greek authorities are understood to be addressing media today about the death of an Australian model on a billionaire's superyacht last Friday.

Mr Bailleres and his family had left the Mayan Queen IV boat days before the incident, Greek news outlets reported.

Attempts "were made to revive her at the scene, but she fell into a coma and died while being airlifted from the island hospital at Argostoli to a larger hospital in Athens", reports The Daily Telegraph.

According to Australian news, McNamara's mother and sister were on their way to Greece to meet her for a holiday when they heard of her death.

On Tuesday the fun-loving blonde beauty had posted to her 13,000 followers on Instagram about her jet-skiing adventures on the blue waters of Kefallinia. One of her friends said "My camping buddy and twin!"

McNamara, 20, was originally from Port Macquarie.

"Happy birthday to the most fantastic big sister I could ever ask for, 5 days till I get to see you!"

Friends, family, and followers of Sinead have taken to Instagram to express their heartbreak and pay their condolences.

"Rest In Peace handsome xx so much love", one person wrote in tribute, while another said: "Fly high gorgeous".

"Rest In Peace you gorgeous girl, life is so unfair", wrote @lilyrobinson. "Life is so precious gone way too soon. Rest in peace handsome girl", while another posted "Beautiful kind happy soul, sending love and strength to her family xx".
