Eagles Coach Doug Pederson Was Furious With The Media Today

The head coach of the defending champions conducted a tense news conference Sunday morning, angry after reports emerged a day earlier that he would start Nick Foles against the Falcons, as the recovering Carson Wentz still will not be ready to play.

"After consideration and everything and about the football team and this decision, Nick Foles is the starter Week One", he said. Apparently, Pederson was irked by that report and insists that he has not decided about whether or not to play Carson Wentz. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday the Eagles were planning to start Foles.

Wentz, of course, is still recovering from a torn ACL and LCL he suffered on December 10 in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles hasn't impressed during preseason.

That would seem to all but guarantee that Foles will get the start, unless his shaky preseason has suddenly put third-stringer Nate Sudfeld in the running. There is no timetable on when Wentz will be cleared, so Foles is the starter going forward for the Eagles.

Colin Kaepernick is the face of Nike's new "Just Do It" campaign
He is now involved in a collusion case against the league, claiming that his protest is keeping teams from signing him. An NFL request to dismiss the case was denied last month, meaning there is sufficient evidence for it to go to trial.

INTERNATIONAL - California lawmakers pass toughest net neutrality law
More than 20 states are suing the FCC to overturn the agency's decision on net neutrality. It passed the Assembly 46-20 August 28 and first passed the Senate in January.

Even more exciting, Clement is expected to take on a much larger role in the backfield this season teaming up with Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles since LeGarrette Blount is no longer in the picture.

Last week, Pederson announced he would make his decision on September 31, the day after their final preseason game, but would not tell anyone except his team until he would be forced to reveal it the day of the game.

As of Monday, the Eagles had kept Wentz and Foles off limits to the media for almost two full weeks. Wentz injury as you may recall, was a little more time-sensitive. You must hear this!

Wentz also said then that he believed it was "going to be close", for him being cleared in time for Atlanta.
