Manchester City have confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne has suffered a lateral collateral ligament lesion in his right knee and will be out for around three months.

Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling played behind Sergio Aguero as De Bruyne came on as a 60th-minute substitute during the defending Premier League champions' 2-0 win at Arsenal last weekend.

The midfielder was hurt during a training session on Wednesday.

Talking about De Bruyne, Guardiola said: "He will be out for two and a half to three months". It's a tough season, short recovery, they say let's go and we are in the competition.
