Air quality at 'unhealthy' level for Portland metro area due to wildfires

According to an NWS forecast discussion, haze higher in the atmosphere is from wildfires across south OR and northern California.

If your county is experiencing particularly bad air quality, keep an eye on the Current Air Quality Network Map, updated every hour, to plan your run or other outdoor activity for when air quality will be improved.

People with conditions such as asthma, heart and lung diseases, children younger than 18, adults older than 65, pregnant women and smokers are advised to limit spending any time outside.

Those include closing windows, running air conditioners on recirculation mode, avoiding driving and closing the windows when doing so and possibly wearing a N95 or N100 rated mask. Use an indoor air filter if available. That's more than Los Angeles and even Beijing, which are both considered among the most polluted cities in their respective countries.
