Leicester City are ready to fight off the big teams in the Premier League to keep hold of defender Harry Maguire this summer.

Manchester United are interested in signing the Englishman who starred at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but Leicester City have no intentions of letting their prized asset leave. His performances earned him acall-up for England's World Cup squad.

Maguire, signed from Hull for what now looks a bargain £17m just 12 months ago, would favour a move to Old Trafford but is not thought to be ready to push the issue. This led to a strong interest in him from Manchester United, with the Red Devils' manager Jose Mourinho unhappy with his current defensive options.

Leicester are poised to slap a £95,000 a week four-year deal in front of the 25-year-old - nearly doubling his current £50,000 a week wages.

Officials conducted a "major search and rescue effort" that was unsuccessful in locating the woman, according to the university. Thomas-Mora and her father (Jones' grandfather) will meet with officials searching for Jones on Monday, July 30th.

The only other Premier League defender on the list is Toby Alderweireld, with the Belgian international's future at Tottenham Hotspur still somewhat unclear. Leicester has already lost star winger Riyad Mahrez in a sale to Manchester City earlier this summer, and losing any more top players would gut the squad even further. "He is a very good player for us", he said in an interview with Sky Sports News on Monday. "We saw his progress during the second half of the season".

And after a failed move for Leicester's own World Cup star Harry McGuire, United have set their crosshairs on the 23-year-old. "He's happy to be here, this is a fantastic opportunity for him to show his talent".

"Of course for us he is a very good player - I wait for him with impatience because we need Harry and we need also Jamie (Vardy) because they are Leicester".
