After sleeping on the deal that sent him to San Antonio for a couple of days, DeMar DeRozan thanked Raptors fans in Toronto and across Canada via Instagram on Saturday afternoon.

Shortly after Raptors president Masai Ujiri apologized Friday, DeRozan added a new post to his Instagram feed: a facepalm emoji, a symbol of frustration and exasperation.

DeMar DeRozan #10 of the Toronto Raptors and the Eastern Conference is introduced during the NBA All-Star Game 2016 at the Air Canada Centre on February 14, 2016 in Toronto, Ontario.

"I had a conversation with DeMar at Summer League, and I want to leave it at that". I think maybe my mistake was talking about what we expected going forward from him. Depending on how things go, there is a scenario where the 27-year-old could be moved once again at the trade deadline if the Raptors are not confident in re-signing him.

It's a collective sigh of relief for Raptors fans and management after reports that the 2014 Finals MVP had no interest in playing with Toronto. Some will treat a player and their family and representation with respect, others don't even return phone calls.

Leonard is only under contract for one more season, so it may not much matter how he feels about the Greater Toronto Area, but there's some speculation that once he spends more time in the area he will embrace the city more.

"I mean, it's one of the oddest situations I think I've seen since I've been in pro basketball", Robinson said. He's a free agent in 2019 and everyone was convinced that he'd be leaving for the Lakers or the Clippers. Now all of the sudden, we've got a guy who says he felt pressure to play, which is, you know, tough.

League sources told ESPN on Wednesday that neither Leonard nor DeRozan was enthusiastic about the deal. As things stand now, the chances of either of the two Los Angeles' teams playing deeper into the postseason than the Leonard-led Raptors are slim.
