YouTube star and two friends plunge to death at Canada waterfall

They released a handsome and emotional tribute to the adventurous trio on their YouTube channel (watch above), and asked their 1.5 million followers to please respect theirs and the victims' families' privacy during the hard time.

The group attempted to inspire followers to "embrace all of life's opportunities with a positive outlook and energy".

The video has been watched more than 60,000 times in less than 24 hours. I love you Ryker Gamble. "Your bright personality will be greatly missed", one person posted on Facebook.

"May you have many adventures where you are now", another wrote. The Vancouver-based group began with Gamble, Lyakh and a friend after they traveled in 2012, according to the BBC.

They began making videos in high school and maintained their friendships despite attending separate universities.

Two years ago, Gamble and Lyakh were sentenced to seven days in prison in the USA and "banned from accessing US public lands for five years" after they were accused of taking photos at a protected hot springs at Yellowstone National Park, Vice News reported.

Gamble's partner, Alissa Hensen, posted a moving tribute on Instagram.

Scraper and Lyakh had been dating for five years, according to social media.

Banks said the bodies were discovered Tuesday evening, hours after the trio slipped and fell 30 metres into the pool.

Trails leading to the pool system at the top of Shannon Falls will be closed for the remainder of the search.

Squamish Mayor Patricia Heintzman said in an interview she hoped the increasing numbers of people visiting the backcountry would come prepared.

The area is accessible from the Sea-to-Sky Gondola and by hiking trails in the provincial park, but Sascha said the area can be risky.

A statement from the Squamish RCMP explains that the terrain is still immensely risky.

"Unless you have the knowledge of that area, the expertise and the right equipment you should not be up there", Banks said. "Fortunately in the past they have been able to be rescued", Willcox said.
