The floodgates have opened for the Los Angeles Lakers as the news of LeBron James' signing has kicked off a flurry of moves. But if it anyone believed Johnson and Pelinka were done for the summer, they were sadly mistaken Monday, when ESPN was the first to report the Lakers dumped Randle and added Rondo. Randle will immediately become an unrestricted free agent.

Randle, a 6-9 big man, averaged a career-high 16.1 points along with eight rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season while playing in all 82 games.

Rajon Rondo drives past the Golden State Warriors' Andre Iguodala.

Rondo, who is reportedly joining the Lakers on a one-year contract, has played 12 years in the National Basketball Association.

Real Madrid make Marco Asensio decision amid Reds interest
Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio will not be leaving the club this summer despite recent speculation about his future. Mario Gotze is eager to join Liverpool and play under manager Jurgen Klopp this summer, according to reports.

Just hours after the Los Angeles Lakers renounced his rights, the New Orleans Pelicans and forward Julius Randle have agreed to a two-year deal worth $18 million according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Rondo, 32, had spent the previous three seasons with four franchises after getting traded by the Boston Celtics to the Dallas Mavericks in 2014.

Rondo did have a memorable clash with another Lakers point guard when he and Isaiah Thomas got into a scuffle and were ejected, along with Walton, during a Valentine's Day meeting in New Orleans last season. It includes a player option on the second year, which can allow Randle, 23, to return into unrestricted free agency in a much looser financial market in 2019.

The Laker experiment this season is going to be fascinating to watch.
