Ramallah: A Palestinian who threw a rock at Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday was shot dead by a soldier, the Israeli Army said in a statement.

Palestinians burned tires and Israeli troops fired heavy volleys of tear gas Friday to push back large Gaza crowds from the area of the fence separating the blockaded territory from Israel.

A senior Israeli military official said Thursday that only "30 to 40" of the at least 125 Palestinians who died from Israeli fire along the Gaza border in recent weeks were killed on objective, with these being identified by the IDF as terrorists with hostile intentions.

The Israeli military said on Tuesday initial findings from an investigation into the killing of a Palestinian nurse during protests on the Gaza border showed that she was not shot deliberately. "In addition, the incident will be examined by the General Staff Fact Finding Assessment Mechanism, and the findings passed to the Military Advocate General", for a separate determination on whether criminal proceedings should be initiated, he added.

Over 120 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the protests.

Israeli occupation forces killed another member of the Tamimi family in the occupied West Bank town of Nabi Saleh. The Palestinians say most of the dead and the thousands who have been wounded were unarmed civilians.

Israeli forces searched two homes during the raid, including one belonging to Adli Farh al-Rimawi and and the other to Awad Jaber al-Rimawi. Others threw stones or flew kites with burning rags attached, aiming to send them over the border and set Israeli fields on fire.

Palestinian medics said that at least 120 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the popular return marches on the borders between the Gaza Strip and Israel on March 30, with nearly daily clashes on the border. "We need real Arab support and solidarity with our cause", said Saleh, a student of Arabic literature who wore a medical mask against the tear gas.

Israel has drawn worldwide condemnation for its use of deadly force during the mass demonstrations.
