The matches will be available free to Amazon Prime's United Kingdom members.

Sky Sports has acquired four packages, totalling 128 matches per season, BT Sport two packages, totalling 52 matches per season, and Premier Sports two packages, totalling 53 matches per season.

The company will livestream 20 matches a season and Prime members are guaranteed to see every team. The other 180 televised matches will be broadcast by Sky Sports and BT Sport, which have aired the Premier League in the past.

How can you watch the games?

The games will be available on Amazon Prime Video at no extra cost to users, Amazon said.

In addition Prime members can watch weekly highlights of all Premier Leagues games throughout the season.

"But we should not forget that Sky is still the dominant provider and the home of Premier League football".

Specifically, the vast online retailers will show one entire round of midweek matches in early December and one round of matches over the Christmas bank holiday.

BT initially said it had paid £90m for its final package, taking their total spend to £975m over three seasons, though that information was later removed from its website.

"[We] instead view this as a way to boost both retention and take-up of the Amazon Prime package rather than Amazon looking to become a Pay-TV operator", Whittaker added.
