Ireland shooting: One dead and two hurt after horror boxing club attack

Taylor is father and former coach of Olympic champion boxer Katie Taylor and in recent years he has set up a boxing club in Bray.

"Unfortunately a 30-year-old man died at the scene and two others were injured".

Pete Taylor was training fighters at Bray Boxing Club in Bray, County Wicklow, near Dublin, just before 7am this morning when a shooter opened fire.

Gardai are searching for a suspect who fled the scene in either a silver or a white van.

The incident took place at about 6:55 am this morning and the three men are believed to be seriously injured.

The chairman of Bray Municipal Council, Chris Fox, confirmed that Pete Taylor was one of those shot.

According to thejournal.ie, Taylor sustained injuries to his arm and chest and remains in a serious condition in St. Vincent's hospital.

Ireland's health minister Simon Harris also tweeted: 'Shocking news in Bray this morning. "I have no doubt that the Gardai are doing all they can to apprehend those responsible".
