Jason Schreir, who is an editor at Kotaku, and first shared this story about Fallout 76 being an online game, recently chose to clear the confusion surrounding its announcement on reddit. The game is taking place somewhere in West Virginia and California, according to our analysis of the game's teaser Twitch stream and full teaser reveal. Well, technically it was more teased, but we do know that Fallout 76 is indeed on the way. There were speculations that this could be an online survival RPG game.

Ever since Bethesda shipped Fallout 4 back in 2015, fans have been clamouring to know about the next step of the franchise. Of course, some outlets believe Starfield will drop later this year. This information comes from unnamed sources within Bethesda, but we personally can not verify if the above info is true. There are also references to the Halloween season, including a carved pumpkin and a prominent trophy citing an "Annual Vault Halloween Costume Contest" which suggest a release around the most haunted time of the year. If that's a trend the developer follows then it's possible we could see Fallout 76 released later this year. Since October already has some large titles releasing, there's a better chance that Vault 76 drops near the end of the year.

The studio has now been re-branded as Bethesda Game Studios Austin and is reportedly assisting in the development of Fallout 76, which makes an online multiplayer experience look all the more likely. The buzz I'm hearing (both first- and second-hand) is that it's really cool, interesting, and just as story-focused as any other Bethesda Game Studios game.

This will be announced during Bethesda's upcoming E3 2018 conference, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 10.
