Burnley free agent Arfield delighted with Rangers move

RANGERS are today delighted to confirm the signing of Scott Arfield from Burnley on a four year deal.

"I think with the size of this club you know how big it's going to be and I'm here now to try and implement that in the dressing room".

However, this season has seen him turn out only 18 times, with injury and Burnley's incredible form keeping him out of the starting line-up.

Arfield, who is Gerrard's first signing at Rangers, says he is excited by the prospect of working with the former Liverpool and England captain, but admits he is yet to speak with his new boss.

Former Liverpool star and current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has completed his first summer signing. A left footer who stands at 5ft 11in (according to Transfermarkt), Arfield can play either in central midfield or on the left flank, and he will bring class and bite to a midfield that is in need of reinforcing after once again falling short in the marquee matches this season.

'It is just an absolute dream, ' Arfield said.

Arfield, who was born in Scotland but plays his worldwide football for Canada, where his father is from, made almost 200 appearances for Burnley.
