After receiving a suggestion on Twitter that blocking analysts who are going to be negative would solve his problem, Musk wrote back: "True".

After several quarters of major losses due to major investments related to bringing the Model 3 to production, Musk now says that he expects Tesla could start showing small profits in the second half of the year.

"True. And once they were on the call, I should have answered their questions live", Musk responded. Critics have suggested that Musk's comment hints that the company's stock will be skyrocketing soon.

"We have no interest in satisfying the desires of day traders", Musk said Wednesday. It is trying to build 5,000 of the vehicles per week by the end of June and overcome manufacturing hurdles that have delayed its rollout. "They are actually on the *opposite* side of investors", Musk tweeted. In a series of tweets, Musk described precisely what prompted his strong responses.

Musk then went on to elaborate.

This week, a lot of headlines were made after Tesla (TSLA) reported Q1 results, as Elon Musk led a freakish conference call where he cut off multiple analysts.

"The reason the Bernstein question about CapEx was boneheaded was that it had already been answered in the headline of the Q1 newsletter he received beforehand, along with details in the body of the letter".

The airline said the Boeing 737 was taken out of service so that maintenance teams could investigate. Another passenger , Linda Holley, texted her son Ryan with a picture of the damaged window.

Musk also said a question about Model-3 demand was absurd because Tesla reservations far surpass current production levels, noting it'd take two years just to fill existing demand.

Later, he said moats are lame, that his company "is a leaky sieve of information" and that Tesla's pickup is going to be great: "We have way more cool things than we know what to do". The compact SUV is likely to carry a similar $35,000 (£26,000) price tag to the Model 3 saloon.

Elon Musk pledged to "burn" investors shorting Tesla Inc. and criticized analysts and even himself after exchanges during the electric-car maker's earnings call sent shares tumbling.

Elon Musk has revealed that the Tesla Model Y will arrive in early 2020, rescheduling initial plans to bring the next member of the Tesla line-up to market at some stage in 2019.

Sacconaghi has a US$265 price target on the stock, while Spak sees the shares falling to US$280. If Tesla does run short of cash, big institutional investors such as Fidelity likely will come to the rescue, but that may cause a change at the top, Ramsey said.

On Friday morning, Elon Musk took to Twitter to explain what happened on the conference call.
