Around Taiwan, there are a number of deals and special events to commemorate this holiday. Today, May 5 has become one of the biggest party days in the US and it's celebrated by all those who love great Mexican food and culture. The holiday became popular among Mexican-Americans starting in the 1950s and 1960s and later on in the 1980s among the general US population.
