Mack and alleged cult leader Keith Raniere were indicted on charges of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy and forced labor conspiracy. New York's New Channel 13 says that Mack will appear in court in Brooklyn later today.

"The victims were then exploited, both sexually and for their labour, to the defendants' benefit". The police report of Raniere's arrest states that she subsequently chased after him and the police at high speeds with at least two other women who are believed to be some of Raniere's sex slaves.

Mack pleaded not guilty to the charges against her when arraigned on Friday afternoon before United States Magistrate Judge Cheryl Pollak.

Court filings say that in 2015, Raniere, who also went by "Vanguard", created a secret sub-organization with NXIVM called "DOS", an acronym for a Latin phrase that loosely translates to "Lord/Master of the Obedient Female Companions", or "The Vow".

Federal prosecutors say a television actress best known for playing a young Superman's close friend has been charged with sex trafficking for helping recruit women to be slaves of a man who sold himself as a self-improvement guru.

The leaders of upstate sex slave cult Nxivm have been trying to undermine potential witnesses by registering websites in their names and threatening to reveal damaging information about them, according to federal prosecutors. The filings allege that DOS had levels of women "slaves" headed by "masters" in a pyramid scheme, with Raniere at the top and Mack immediately below Raniere.

However, Tottenham could only manage a draw against a Brighton side who moved a step closer to top-flight survival. Albion drew level when Pascal Gross slotted home a penalty awarded for Serge Aurier's foul on Jose Izquierdo.

Raniere was first arrested in Mexico on March 25 on sex trafficking charges.

Raniere has led NXIVM since the late 1990s.

Following Raniere's arrest, Mack's longtime co-star Kristin Kreuk felt compelled to issue a statement clarifying that she had nothing to do with the organization, despite rumors to the contrary.

According to the Albany Times Union, Mack was listed as an accomplice in Raniere's criminal complaint. It was unclear who her attorney is.

Authorities have stated the 57-year-old - who is being held at a prison in Oklahoma without bail - had a "rotating group of 15-20 women with whom he had sexual relationships".
