Following an offseason workout with the Browns, after which Hue Jackson famously said he felt the earth move under his feet, RGIII signed a two-year deal in Cleveland.

The Ravens are darn pleased with their new backup to quarterback Joe Flacco, however.

Their backup last season, Ryan Mallett, is a free agent after signing a one-year deal in March 2017.

When last we saw Griffin on the field, he was one of the most inefficient quarterbacks in the NFL. He spent three more seasons with the Redskins as the team slowly integrated Kirk Cousins into the starting role.

Griffin, 28, was selected by the Washington Redskins with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, and starred in the league during his prodigious rookie season before injury setbacks hampered his development.

Newsome said Wednesday that Griffin's signing wouldn't stop the Ravens from potentially selecting a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft if Baltimore feels one is the best available player. No word yet on the financial details of Griffin's new contract.
