Mississippi Boy Shoots Sister Over Video Game Controller

A 9-year-old MS boy was accused of killing his 13-year-old sister over a video game argument that sparked Saturday.

Cantrell said the investigation would not be rushed.

Cecil Cantrell, a Sheriff in the Monroe County confirmed that the victim was killed when a bullet struck her at the back of the head.

Authorities are still investigating the case.

According to a report from CNN, the shooting occurred while the siblings' mother was in the kitchen making lunch for other children.

Cantrell also added that the incident was "new ground" for them, adding that he didn't know what charges could or should be applied to a 9-year-old. It is not yet known how the boy gained access to a gun.

Adding, 'I don't know if he knew exactly what this would do. I can't answer that. The incident reportedly took place in Monroe County in northeast Mississippi.

Elaborating, Cantrell expressed concern regarding whether or not the boy actually understood the effect that using a gun on a person would have. "I do know it's a tragedy", the local police said when asked if the boy knew what he was doing. "That's why I'm not too fast to say anything because there are juveniles involved". The family of these children has to be going through intense pain, and this trauma is going to change their lives forever.
