49ers bloggers compiling Twitter lists for all the people Richard Sherman blocked

It should come as no surprise that Sherman, one of the most outspoken players in the league, took it personally when the Seahawks released him last week.

Sherman went on to say that he did not mean it as anything disrespectful and the whole situation was kind of forced on him. "We said to him, 'There are some realities here where you're going to have to give.' And he got it". And Sherman called Detroit coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn; incentive package too rich for Detroit's blood.

When that was relayed to Sherman, he paused for a second.

"I'm vengeful that way ... vengeful", Sherman said in an interview with Peter King of the MMQB.

That's what it sounded like. "As long as I'm content with what I'm making, nothing else matters to me". It takes a troubling level of spite to actually wish misery upon someone you once loved, but I'm petty enough to hope that a once-significant other doesn't ever wind up more happy than me and the great thing about the fact that Sherman is in San Francisco is that there will be a way to keep score. It was such a great opportunity.

In addition, Sherman noted his desire to stay on the West Coast, where he has family (he's slated to get married at the end of the month), his ties to the Bay Area from his time at nearby Stanford and, of course, his desire to play against the Seahawks a couple of times a year in the NFC West. People are out there burning my jersey. Richard said, "What if I'm voted to the Pro Bowl and I can't go because we're in the Super Bowl?' We thought, He's right".

Sherman had told the Seahawks that he would be transparent with them, so he let them know what had been worked out. "I didn't abandon anybody".

EU, Japan push for Trump tariff exemptions
On Friday, the European Union said it was not clear whether the bloc would be exempt from Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs. European Union, Japanese and USA trade officials confer at EU headquarters in Brussels, March 10, 2018.

As Mike Florio reported, the deal includes $5 million before training camp in the form of a $3 million signing bonus and a $2 million roster bonus on the first day of camp.

That seems likely, assuming Sherman has been correct in saying he thinks he'll be fully healed by the summer.

If anyone had been following the Seahawks this offseason, Sherman's statements may not come as a surprise.

The former Seahawks cornerback is getting a three-year, $39 million deal that includes nearly no guaranteed money. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Sherman told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Saturday that the incentive-laden deal is worth up to $39.15 million. His base salary in Seattle for 2018 was $11 million.

And at the very least, the new deal gives Sherman the chance to stick it to his old team at least twice a year. But Sherman has fond memories of secondary brotherhood in Seattle.

With Chancellor's football future in jeopardy because of a career-threatening neck injury, the Seahawks have approached Shead about possibly playing strong safety next season.
