The awkward gaffe happened as Phillip chatted to expert guests Roger and David about whether or not Sir Bradley was an innocent man after a bombshell report by MPs said the Tour de France victor and Team Sky "crossed an ethical line" by using asthma drugs to enhance his performance.

"We need to have a decision as soon as possible for Chris Froome himself, for his team, for us, for cycling", said Lappartient on Wednesday.

In a statement, Team Sky said they were "happy to co-operate with any investigation by the UCI and would welcome further scrutiny of the Select Committee's report".

It is understood Team Sky are backing their under-fire boss Brailsford, yet Landis has also argued the DCMS report could spell the end for a team whose riders have won five of the past six Tours.

"While we have acknowledged past failings, we strongly deny the very serious new allegations about the use of medication to enhance performance, as does Bradley Wiggins", said Team Sky.

Team Sky has accused the committee of presenting "unsubstantiated allegations" which it says is "fundamentally unfair to the team and its riders".

But proving or disproving that has been beyond anybody, including UKAD, because of Dr Freeman's failure to follow protocol and share his records with colleagues - a mistake compounded by the chaotic state of the medical storeroom he used at British Cycling's base in Manchester and then losing his laptop while on holiday in Greece three years later. "I wouldn't have stayed so long, I wouldn't still be in the team, if I didn't believe in the team and the people around me".

"I am calling for him and the doctor to come forward and tell the truth".

Clarke was called for a technical foul. "It was just a great win for us, and it was kind of emotional", Farrell said. Farrell's 3-pointer with 13:55 left first ignited the closing run that, initially, Virginia Tech met shot-for-shot.

In an interview with the BBC, Lappartient noted the report and suggested that the CADF should look into its findings. "If you are using substances to increase your performances I think this is exactly what is cheating", he said. They have the power of investigation. This was within World Anti-Doping Agency rules as Wiggins had the relevant therapeutic use exemption (TUE) certificate for the medication. "You have to put this in the context of the time".

"They need to explain it all to everybody", the Australian, who had a key coaching role at Team Sky from 2010-13, told Sky Sports. Is it just using the rules?

"That is why the MP's report just says they were not breaching the rules".

Cedric Vasseur, the manager of fellow MPCC team Cofidis, did not hold back when asked about the report's findings on Team Sky.

The 32-year-old Team Sky rider is now competing at the Tirreno-Adriatico race in Italy and intends to ride May's Giro d'Italia and this summer's Tour de France. That's absolute rubbish. I've seen that accusation but no, that's complete rubbish.

The Australian, however, maintains others still have questions to answer.

Lappartient, however, said it would be "a disaster for the image of cycling" if Froome rode the sport's biggest race without his salbutamol case being cleared up.

Lappartient repeated his call for a quick resolution to the salbutamol case of Chris Froome, which remains in limbo.
