Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded Washington send over proof that Russian citizens interfered in the November 2016 presidential elections.

In fact, Prigozhin has been nicknamed "Putin's chef" because of his close ties to the Russian political leadership and his ability to obtain lucrative government contracts.

A detailed, 37-page indictment from special counsel Robert Mueller alleges Russian operatives used fake social media accounts and targeted messaging to interfere in the 2016 election. "Now it's they who have to catch up and bear all due consequences, first of all for the purses of their taxpayers", the source said.

Speaking Friday at a public forum in Kaliningrad, Putin again boasted about the new weapons, saying that the still-anonymous underwater drone, the nuclear-powered cruise missile and the intercontinental hypersonic strike vehicle called Avangard border on science fiction.

Meanwhile, Putin's assertion that the individuals behind the DNC hack and social media influence operation "do not represent the Russian state" or the "Russian authorities" speaks to another tactic the Kremlin often employs.

"This was a signal to the West, the U.S.in particular, that Russia is ready for nuclear isolationism", said Andrei Kortunov, head of the Russian International Affairs Council, a Kremlin-established research group.

"Let them provide some materials, specifics and data". He says Moscow will "be prepared to look at them and talk about it".

But then, when he was asked whether these people could be extradited to the United States, the Russian leader stressed: "Never".

Military commanders realize high-tech weapons being developed by Russian Federation and China will likely end up in the hands of other countries - and have been calling for better sensors to track cruise missiles, according to the report.

"Never. Never", Putin said.

Counterintelligence veterans also largely agreed that, from a practical view, Mueller's charges against the Russians carry little weight because Russia has always been engaged in information warfare with the US.

But when Kelly asked whether Putin would extradite the accused if evidence backs up the Mueller indictment, Putin said he would not. The Extradition Clause in the US Constitution requires states, upon demand of another state, to deliver a fugitive from justice who has committed a "treason, felony or other crime" to the state from which the fugitive has fled.
