Arsenal great Thierry Henry has said he would not "back down from a challenge" if a vacancy arose to succeed Arsene Wenger as manager of the Gunners.

Variety, of course, is the spice of life, so in recent times the Gunners have taken this to a new level, and what we've seen in 2018 is a team that is capable of losing to anyone.

"And I believe as well at the moment, when we need to stay in the game we make individual mistakes at the wrong moments".

Brighton's Lewis Dunk, right, after scoring his side's first goal against Arsenal at the AMEX Stadium on Sunday. I don't know how but now we are in a bad situation and the results are not with us. "But we will fight until the end of the season", he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

Thierry Henry has given his clearest indication yet that he is prepared to replace Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager.

On May 12 past year, Chelsea lifted the Premier League title with two games to spare and would eventually finish the season seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham with Manchester City a further eight adrift.

Over 15 years later and things are not quite so rosy for Wenger with the club seemingly in terminal decline.

"The boss is here to give his best for the club".

Burnley come from behind to down 10-man Everton 2-1
Burnley are set to have the fit-again James Tarkowski back involved on Saturday when they take on Everton at Turf Moor. In their last three games they got hammered by Arsenal , beaten by Watford and now defeated at Burnley .

"What I don't want to see is what's happening to him, and I would like him to have the last word, whatever word it's going to be".

Glenn Murray made it 2-0 after 26 minutes, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled a goal back for Arsenal two minutes before half-time.

Arsenal has now lost its fourth match in a row since beating Ostersunds in Sweden in a Europa tie.

That stark contrast in form showed early on as Brighton took the lead from a run of the mill corner, Petr Cech far too easily beaten in the air by Shane Duffy, who headed back across goal for Dunk to slam in the opener.

Koscielny refused to give up on the idea of bridging the 13-point gap which now separates them from the top four in the Premier League, but also acknowledged that it would be hard to catch those above them in the table.

Losing to Pep Guardiola's irresistible champions-elect is one thing, but to a Brighton side, battling relegation will not be so palatable for Arsenal fans growing increasingly exhausted of Wenger's reign.

Despite only arriving in November, Allardyce could lose his job this summer, and Everton are now being linked with a stunning move to keep Wenger in the Premier League.
