Amit Shah exudes confidence of forming govt in Tripura

BJP seems to have a strong uphold in the state of Tripura and will come out to be a strong challenge to the 25-year-old uninterrupted Left cadres in the state. He also said that Tripura has risen in revolt against the traditional parties like CPI (M) and Congress.

The vision document states that stories of Tripura's erstwhile royal rulers would be included in school curriculum and Agartala airport would renamed after Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, the last king of Tripura.

To a query on BJP president Amit Shah's allegation that the Congress was helping the CPM by dividing the anti-Left votes, he said it was the other way around.

Amit Shah, the leader of the BJP party has begun his campaign from the notherneast state of Tripura, before the Assembly elections.

The Union minister also said the non-Left space in Tripura had been now utterly occupied by the BJP.

The manifesto "Vision Document Tripura 2018" said Special Economic Zones (SEZs) would be be set up in the state for sectors like food processing, bamboo, IT and textiles. He said that the elections were important for the entire country and BJP.

Besides, the vision document also promises to bring a change in the lives of people of Tripura by generating employment opportunities. Talking about his party's manifesto, the Union minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had always worked for the country's progress and that was the reason the BJP had focused on development projects in its vision document for Tripura.

Mr. Shah said that BJP is sure to win in the State and added that there is too much anger among people against the "mis-governance and failures" of Left-front government. Arun Jaitley promised that a degree college would be set up in each constituency to upgrade the education system. The Bharatiya Janata Party is contesting 51 out of the 60 Assembly seats, and its ally Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura will fight the remaining nine seats.

Hitting out at the ruling CPM, Shah said that in the 25 years of CPM government, the number of unemployed youths rose to 7.33 lakh from 25,000. The election results of all the three northeastern states will be announced on March 3.
