Terrorist attack Sunjwan Army camp in J&K, 2 injured

The area of the army camp is now cordoned off by the authorities.

Mr. Vaid said the attack coincides with the death anniversary of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

Indian media reported three or four militants entered the heavily fortified Sunjwan Army camp in Jammu area of the disputed region at 5 a.m. local time (2330GMT Friday).

While the minister did not specify the group affiliation of the militants who carried out the attack, officials said Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were behind the terror strike.

"It's nearly impossible to breach the security at the front gate".

The militants barged into the army brigade headquarters at Sunjuwan from the rear side at around 4.45 am today, said IGP Jammu.
