This year, the Recording Academy's annual celebration returns to New York City and the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden. The 60th annual music awards show will be broadcast on CBS starting at 4:30 p.m.

Grammy producers say the first ceremony held in NY in 15 years will be packed with the one-of-a-kind performances that have come to be known as "Grammy moments".

"Everything just costs more to do in NY versus Los Angeles, in terms of facilities, stagehands, hotel rooms, transportation, general expenses of the show - all of which we account for, but it's just a different animal", Ehrlich added.

The 60th annual Grammy Awards will be live from NY for the first time in 15 years and the clock's counting down to the return of music's biggest night.

She was scheduled to perform a song titled "Kiss It Better".

"I do wish more black women were being nominated as well, but hopefully we will be next year", Ali said.

Grammy victor and current nominee Bruno Mars will sing with current nominee and Bronx's own Cardi B.

James Corden is set to host the show, and Jay-Z leads this year's list of nominees with eight nominations. Krauss, a bluegrass and country musician, is also the female artist to hold the most awards in the Country Field category.

Kendrick Lamar, Pink, U2 and Childish Gambino are just some of the top-shelf talent lined up for performances on the telecast. Neither have ever won the Grammys' top trophy, which could picking favorites even more hard for voters. The Album of the Year contenders Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Bruno Mars and Childish Gambino make up the most minority nominees since 2005.

Lamar will be aiming for his first Album of the Year win with "Damn", a record described by Rolling Stone as "a brilliant combination of the timeless and the modern, the old-school and the next level". Despite her 13 Grammy nominations, Katy Perry - who with 6.0 million album and 91.5 million digital single sales is the 10th best selling artist of all time - has yet to win a Grammy Award. But who has taken home the most Grammys ever? Miranda Lambert, who earned two nominations, was surprisingly shut out of best country album though her double album, "The Weight of These Wings", was a critical favorite. Best New Artist nominees Alessia Cara and Khalid will team up with rapper Logic to perform their Song of the Year nominee "1-800-273-8255", joined by a group of suicide attempt and loss survivors selected by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (the song's title is the hotline's phone number).
