"I love Trump", famously said Uganda's leader Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said that he did. He added that Africans need to solve their problems and need to be strong saying that in the world, one can not survive when weak. "I don't know if he's misquoted or whatever, but when he speaks I like him because he speaks frankly".

But President Museveni, who was speaking during the opening of the week-long East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) sitting in Uganda said, immigration, weakens Africa.

The Ugandan was the first African leader to not openly condemn the hardline Republican's "racist" comment, which triggered unprecedented global outrage. "I love Trump because he talks to Africans frankly".

Trump reportedly used the language at a private White House meeting on January 12, which led to condemnation around the world.

African leaders labelled Mr Trump a racist earlier this month after he allegedly described some immigrants as coming from "sh*thole countries" during an immigration meeting, with sources saying he'd questioned why the United States would want to let them into the country.
