First babies of 2018 born in Toronto as fireworks explode

The first baby born in 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital arrived at 12:42 a.m.

A short time later at the hospital, Laura Brown, 29, had a baby boy at 1.27am, as did second-time mother Pamela McGarvey, 32, at 1.37am.

The first new year baby at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley was a girl at 4.01am.

The third baby of the new yea was delivered in Wexford at 12.30am.

Did we miss any New Year's Day babies? "Then when I saw the fireworks, it was so attractive, there was no pain", Khoza, 26, a first-time mom said Monday afternoon.

"It's a biblical name that we found when we were praying for a baby", Khoza said. "I'll never forget it", Dlamini said.
