- Right. So when I was- you know, he had come out earlier and said that so people were asking me about it.

"Don't count anything out on him coming over to the UFC, that anything is possible", White said on the show, noting that he didn't think the Conor McGregor and Mayweather boxing match would happen, until of course, it did this past August.

Most fans believe he'll be back though, if only for two or three fights. "They're both waiting, if Georges wants to come back".

There is no shortage of fighters eager to experience the kind of payday that accompanies fights with McGregor and even the likes of Manny Pacquiao are desperate to compete opposite the Dubliner. It's going to be interesting.

Citing the windfall that the Dubliner received for his TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather, White is banking on McGregor getting bored of the fruits of his labour and itching to return to action.

That's certainly a new wrinkle being added to the potential plans for McGregor upon his return, as White had previously been adamant that he had to fight Ferguson to unify the titles. "If whoever wins the Barboza-Khabib fight, while we're trying to figure out this Conor mess, could end up fighting Tony Ferguson for the opportunity to fight Conor McGregor, so we'll see", White revealed when speaking to FS1.

Tottenham provide a entirely different challenge however, with Southampton fans knowing full well how Mauricio Pochettino likes to set up his side.

As UFC continues to sit and wait, hopeful that its biggest star Conor McGregor will make a summer return in 2018, there remains an uncomfortable stat that's repeatedly floated around concerning the lightweight champion.

"What we have to do is - he needs to defend that title", White told FOX Sports' Undisputed.

UFC president Dana White, however, doesn't see that fight happening, and has serious questions about whether St. Pierre intends to ever fight again.

"If Conor McGegor fights next year, that'll be awesome", White said.

"There's some f--ing exaggeration in saying the guy's never defended a title", White said. "If Conor McGregor doesn't fight, I mean, the UFC's going to go on".
