Remains found in Montana may be three missing MI boys

But recently, the bones and teeth of three children were discovered behind a home in a shed in Missoula, Mont., and an anthropologist estimated the children to be in the same age range as each of the Skelton brothers.

A laboratory analysis added a layer of tragedy to the find: Not only were the remains recent, they belonged to three children - one ages 5 to 8, one 6 to 10 and the third 2 to 4.

The day after Thanksgiving in 2010 the Skeltons - Andrew, 9, Alexander, 7, and Tanner, 5, were reported missing.

ABC FOX Montana's Angela Marshall spoke on Thursday with a reporter at 13ABC Action News, WTVG.

Multiple agencies, including the FBI, have investigated the brothers disappearance over the last seven years.

Montana reports that Michigan State Police contacted authorities in Missoula, Montana regarding a case of children's remains that were located.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System will try to test the remains for DNA.

Tanya Zuvers reported her sons missing after her estranged husband, John Skelton, failed to return them to her Morenci home on Thanksgiving. In September 2011, the latter charge was dropped; Shelton pleaded no contest to the unlawful imprisonment.

When the cleaners picked through the shed, they found a box in the building.

John Skelton is now sitting in a jail cell at Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan, on an unlawful imprisonment charge.

Authorities investigate if human remains discovered in Missoula, Montana could be those of brothers who went missing in 2010.

Missoula Police Sergeant Travis Welsh says as the case gets more attention, it's likely other law enforcement agencies with cold cases involving children will be contacting investigators here. Michigan State Police confirmed they are looking into the possible new development.

Police are investigating whether human remains found in Montana are of three MI boys who disappeared seven years ago.

There has been nothing previously linking the brothers to Montana, and it is not known if the remains are from related siblings.

Further forensic testing has been requested by police in Montana that may provide more answers. Officials believe the human remains belong to three children.

Their father claims he gave his sons away to an Amish family, but the children haven't been seen since.
