YouTube Is Said to Plan New Paid Music Subscription Service

The project is known as Remix internally, and is due to launch in March 2018.

YouTube has not had a successful run like Spotify, which has almost 140 million monthly users or Apple, which has over 30 million subscribers, when it comes to paid music service. This service was based on subscriptions, and allowed people to stream music.

In addition to Amazon Music Unlimited, the Amazon Echo is coming to the listed countries as well, which will provide support for voice commands such as "Alexa, play rock music".

The report suggests that YouTube is calling this service as "Remix", and it will also include an on-demand streaming feature with YouTube elements like video clips just like Spotify. Google also got on to this bandwagon of music streaming services with Play Music, however, it hasn't been able to catch up with other services as much as Google would have liked.
