Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is back with an exciting game mode

The event returns to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 12.

Three maps will be getting a winter makeover, King's Row and Hanamura are returning from previous year, and the arcade map Black Forest will be getting decorated as well. Kaplan teased some new skins in particular for Junkrat, Roadhog and a long awaited skin for Hanzo, based on a look previously featured in the Overwatch comics series. It's an asymmetrical multiplayer mode: Modeled after a boss fight à la Evolve, it pits five Meis against one "yeti", Winston.

Obviously, there will be new Legendary skins available, but the team won't reveal them all - that would ruin the surprise. Those two will make a return, while the Arena map Black Forest will also receive one of these seasonal passes. There's no word given on exactly when Yeti Hunt and the rest of Winter Wonderland will debut, but last year's event ran from 13 December to 3 January so I'm guessing it will be about the same this time around.

Blizzard is also introducing Mei's Yeti Hunt. Players are tasked with hunting him down before his rage sets in. Meanwhile, Winston will be scouring the map for meat to fuel his Primal Rage ability.

Speaking of Mei, Blizzard is planning a new event around the snowy scientist.

As I'm pretty certain absolutely nobody has mentioned on social media yet (because we would never do anything like gripe about the weather online, right?), Cape Town turned into Satan's oven yesterday.
