Microsoft makes Office available to all compatible Chromebooks

There is a caveat, however, as Microsoft's Office is only available for free on Chromebooks with displays up to 10.1inches. After the release of a version of Windows seemingly pointed right at Google's second OS, Redmond is now rolling out Microsoft Office for all Chromebooks capable of running Android apps. Until now, the Office apps for Chromebooks were mainly limited to Google's latest PixelBook device. Google did add the support for Android apps, but for anyone looking to turn to a Chromebook as an alternative to Windows, an OS that is synonymous with Microsoft Office, having the support for the Office suite on Chrome OS was not an option.

Office has been usable on a few select Chromebooks since Google launched the Play Store on Chrome OS a year ago. In practice, the suite only worked on a few devices, and then only for some users.

Chrome Unboxed checked the Play Store for multiple models of Chromebook, and confirmed the Android app versions of the software appear to be available for all current Chromebooks.

Although there's been no official word from either party, Chrome Unboxed has been tinkering with the various offerings and it appears that they are all now working as they should.

During his recent Asia trip, he tweeted that he was "forced to" watch "fake" CNN , claiming that he has not done so in months. Comey explained hours later that he included the picture because he likes it and it reminded him of his favorite Bible verse.

I do love Google Docs, it has everything I need to get stuff done on the move, but, given the choice, I would always choose Office 365 over it, as it is simply more my style - it's also more feature-rich. Along with the manufacturers, Chromebook users would also be happy with the apps even if they were satisfied with G Suite.

For years, one of the most common complaints about Chromebooks was that they couldn't run the Office suite of applications.

However, there is a small requirement for Chromebooks that feature screens larger than 10.1-inch. The same rule applies to the iPad Pro.
