The freaky threat came after the American flattened hapless challenger Bermane Stiverne inside a round to defend his WBC title on Saturday night in NY.

"I declare war upon you [Anthony Joshua]", Wilder said. Do you accept my challenge?

Ortiz was replaced by Bermane Stiverne, a rematch of the title fight from 2015, but it was over inside three minutes as the referee waved it off with one second remaining the first round. "The Bronze Bomber" insists he'd be willing to travel into enemy territory to make it happen, a statement supported by previous plans to fight Alexander Povetkin in Russian Federation before Povetkin was caught taking a banned substance.

This time, Wilder got the knockout, and it didn't take long.

"I know I am the best. Are you ready for the test?"

After the brutal knockout, an emotional Wilder was asked by SHOWTIME Sports® reporter Jim Gray about a possible fight with unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

But on Saturday, the lone opponent to last 12 rounds with Wilder could not even make it through one. Eventually, according to Wilder, Joshua will have no choice but to put his belts on the line against the United States' most exciting heavyweight in years. The world want Joshua, the world want Wilder, I want Joshua.

Wilder said: "A king doesn't chase a peasant". You want to do [Joshua-Wilder] at a soccer stadium in the United Kingdom, let's do it. Deontay Wilder will put Anthony Joshua to sleep the same way he just put Stiverne to sleep. "I just want to prove that I am the best".

Deontay Wilder said during the build up to his second fight with Bermane Stiverne that things weren't going to be the same as the first fight.

"I have been waiting a long time, I know I am the best". They trying to give me the peasant without the king on the contract.

Wilder may lack a name on his record like Wladimir Klitschko, who Joshua stopped in the 11th round in April.

Wilder required just one round to dispose of the late stand-in challenger for his WBC heavyweight title and he did so in typically reckless style.
