Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who has been a part of remakes like "Devdas" and "Don", said he loved introducing "Ittefaq" to a new generation as the Rajesh Khanna-starrer was his mother's favourite movie. The makers of the film, precisely Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions followed a unique strategy for the film's promotion that was only promoting it on the social media and not having the traditional promotional style. I think the content is really important for the film. "Possibly the most chivalrous actor I've met", Sonakshi Sinha told IANS.

Ittefaq marks the first time when Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra will be working opposite each other. Son of Ravi Chopra, Juno is the grandson of the legendary Baldev Raj Chopra (B.R. Chopra), who is known for his classic works like "Waqt" (1965), the original "Ittefaq" (1969) and "The Burning Train" (1979) to name a few.
