Jafari who also warned against designating its Revolutionary Guards Corp as a terrorist by the United States, said that additional sanctions would end the chances for future dialogue with America.

"As we've announced in the past, if America's new law for sanctions is passed, this country will have to move their regional bases outside the 2,000 km range of Iran's missiles", the Revolutionary Guard chief warned.

Iran is warning the United States against designating its Revolutionary Guards Corp as a terrorist group and says USA regional military bases will be at risk if new sanctions are passed.

Jafari also said that Washington is on "the wrong route" in attempting to pressure Iran into negotiations on regional issues, and said that new sanctions would only "eliminate the chance" for talks.

"The behavior of the United States toward Iran shows that we can't base our foreign policy on the nuclear agreement alone".

"The Islamic Republic intends to resolve the regional issues at a place other than the negotiating table".

Iran has denounced the sanctions as a breach of the 2015 nuclear deal and retaliated with a parliamentary bill to "counter America's terrorist and adventurist actions".

Trump has railed against the multi-party deal, achieved by his predecessor Barack Obama, and appears ready to pull out of it.

He said any new USA sanctions would ruin the chances for any kind of interaction "forever".

Washington should know that Iran will use the opportunity provided by (US Presdient) Donald Trump Administration's lunatic conduct of the JCPOA to boost its missile program as well as it regional and conventional defense plans, Jaafari said.

The Quds Force, the IRGC's foreign espionage and paramilitary wing, and individuals and entities associated with the IRGC are on the U.S. list of foreign terrorist organisations, but the organisation as a whole is not.

The warning comes as US President Trump is expected to announce his new Iran policy in the coming days.

This is while the International Atomic Energy Agency has repeatedly verified Iran's commitments and other parties to the deal, including Washington's European allies, have rejected Trump's hawkish stance toward the UN-endorsed agreement.
