OJ Simpson, the former American football legend and Hollywood star, has been released from a Nevada prison in Lovelock after serving nine years for armed robbery. She said she did not know the driver who met Simpson upon his release and didn't know where Simpson was immediately headed in his first hours of freedom. They would require he report to a parole office in person - not through mail - that he wear a monitoring bracelet, that he undergo frequent drug testing, and that his travel be restricted.

When prison officials told Simpson, "Don't come back", the former Buffalo Bills star responded, "I don't have any intent", according to Keast.

Asked where he was heading, Simpson replied: "None of your business".

Simpson will be on strict parole regulations, which includes a ban on excessive consumption of alcohol, that he will have to adhere to while he's out among the other free citizens of Nevada.

Lavergne said an interstate compact regarding parolee transfers gives Simpson a right to move to Florida. He was set free at eight minutes past midnight "to ensure public safety and avoid a possible incident", Keast said. However, he must get permission from the parole board before he can move to the state.

Simpson will face restrictions upon leaving prison including five years of parole supervision.

Man fatally stabs two at French train station; shot dead
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak publicly about the investigation. French president Emmanuel Macron condemned the attack and praised the reaction of the security services on Twitter.

LaVergne said recently that Simpson looked forward to reuniting with his family, eating steak and seafood and returning to Florida.

Simpson was sentenced to prison following a 2007 arrest for a botched robbery in Las Vegas. In a letter penned to the Secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections, Bondi laid out strict probation rules for Simpson, in the event he chooses to spend those years in Florida.

"The specter of his residing in comfort in Florida should not be an option", Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement Friday. Simpson also wants to be closer to his children, who also live in Florida. He will serve up to 5 years of supervised release, and if he wants to cross state lines, he'll need to request a transfer under the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision.

It's a new chapter for the one-time pop culture phenomenon whose fame was once again on display when the major TV networks carried his parole hearing live.

The NFL Hall-of-Famer was acquitted in 1995 of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. Many other people characterized it as payback for his acquittal in the Los Angeles murder case.

The former TV celebrity had a huge career in the National Football League, where he is considered one of the all-time greats in his time with the Buffalo Bills. He became an actor, known for his goofy character in the Naked Gun movies, and appearances in commercials. A lawyer for the Goldman family told CNN he still hopes to collect the judgment, which is now "a touch under $70 million" due to interest. They had advised it would be no earlier than Monday and possibly in Las Vegas. He says he only wanted to retrieve personal items, mementoes and family photos. Keast said she had no information about where he was going.
